My sister and I have renamed this series "The Lisbeth Chronicles".
These books are PHENOMENAL. So incredibly awesome. I had a hard time going to sleep and doing other necessary things (like eating, cleaning, cooking, working out, etc.) while reading them. I'm a bit sad that it's all over now. I really enjoyed each book in this series. They're so thrilling and compelling. These books are not for the faint of heart, they're violent and extremely graphic. With that said, they are very well written and it's obvious that Larsson was an extraordinary author. I look forward to the next two movies being released.
This movie was cute and funny, if a little crass. I suggest this for a light hearted flick and some good laughs. Plus Mila Kunis is adorable and J.Timberlake ain't too bad himself.
We watched this last night and we did not like it. At all. Well, maybe there were like 4 funny parts in the whole movie. But mostly I was disappointed. I felt uncomfortable and I felt like most of the "funny" parts weren't all that funny. Which really makes me sad because Jason Segel is kinda my main squeeze. Oh well, now I just have more reason to see The Muppets.
In the long run, we shape our lives, and we shape ourselves. The process never ends until we die. And the choices we make are ultimately our responsibility.
FINALLY! It's been a long 17 months since this show was on the air, ughhh. But now it's back and still amazing! I love love love this show. The fashion, the history, everything really. If you've never watched it I highly suggest you fix that. You can catch up on the first four seasons on Netflix. And I guess I can start to forgive them for the 17 month hiatus since they showed a two hour premiere tonight. Pretty great :)
Well, I have a few more words. YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY GO SEE THIS, ASAP. But if you haven't read the book plllllllease read the book. It'll take you like two days...a week, tops. They did a great job for a book-to-movie adaptation. Like really good. Of course the nerd in me wanted to point out all of the (minor) differences but really, it was awesome. It's pathetic that I'm having "Day After Christmas Syndrome" now. You know, when you get soooooo excited about something and then it's over and you're down in the dumps. Big time. I'm pretty sure I'm going to see it again in the theaters, I just have to. It was incredible y'all. So go on and see it!
I realize that I've been a negligent blog writer, if you can even call me that anymore. I'll quickly update you on life: John's parents this past weekend came and we had a great time with them! And yay for TWOWolfpack wins while they were here! I've either been cleaning, spending time with fam or resting lately so that leaves few moments of free time. Although I did finish The Girl Who Played With Fire in a week and it was AMAZING! I'm well into the third book now. Maybe tomorrow I'll post those pics from when Katie was here, if you're lucky...
So remember that time when I had to stop running because my body was basically starting a revolution against itself? Yeah. Well, I've kinda been toying with the idea of running again. I just felt like I had really accomplished something after every run. Ughh. I don't know what to do. John suggested getting orthodics(not sure how to spell it and spellcheck says it's wrong?). He thinks that will cut down on the pain. I think I really just want to run because it's starting to get nice outside (OK, so today it was nice outside) and again with the accomplishment thing. I don't have a regular workout routine and have kind of gotten into a funk. Must decide something soon. Should I compromise my knees/shins/ankles? Will the pain eventually subside? Last time I was regularly running for around 5 months and once the pain would subside in one area another started acting up. Lots of people run, why can't I run? Experienced runners out there, help me out, does the pain go away? Or should I just give up and find something else to do? It would probably help if I wasn't so cheap and would actually join a gym. I did that once in college and eventually came up with a mound of excuses as to why I couldn't go. Help!
I am slowly but surely trying to amp up my spiciness intake. Every time I eat Thai I get at least a 3 on the spiciness scale (weak, I know) and if I'm feeling a little more adventurous I creep up to a 4. By the end of the meal I've consumed 6 glasses of water, my sinuses are completely cleared and my nose is continuously dripping. I'm not sure why I feel like I need to increase my spiciness, I've just made it my mission over the past year or so to try. Sooo in the spirit of all things spicy I added this recipe to my Pinterest food board and tried it last night.
It was delicious!! And yes, pretty spicy. If you're not a chicken eater you could totally make it without. Also, personally, I feel like if I'm eating a carb loaded dinner I like to have more veggies with mine so I think I put three times as many peas in it. And I just had leftovers and added steamed broccoli (that also helped control the spiciness). So if you're into hot stuff you should try this. And if you're trying to amp up your tolerance of spice I would try this too, you can always scale back on the red pepper flakes. Enjoy!
So I pretty much had like the best time ever with my sister! It was so much fun to be able to spend time with just her. We didn't do anything extravagant; just went out to eat (a lot), watched TV, saw a movie, worked (bless her for coming to work with me), went to the zoo and shopped a bit. My sister has turned 21 since the last time I saw her and y'all, it was so cool to be able to go out and order a beer (or a whiskey sour, or a margarita, or a...) with her! I mean, is she really an adult? Yes she is, wow. Sisters are really thebest thing in the whole world and I'm so thankful for mine. Thank you Katie for spending your spring break in Pittsburgh (even though it snowed), it was such a sweet and special time for me. When I was driving away from the airport (after dropping her off), I literally felt like a piece of my heart was boarding that plane to Raleigh. You are really amazing Katie, I'm so proud of you and I love you so very much!
I'll post some pics once she sends them to me (side-eye Katie).
She also made me three CDs (yes, I still listen to CDs) so that I could update my musical collection. This song was on one of the CDs and I love it! It's been stuck in my head for the past few days, hope y'all like it too! (warning: the video is a little trippy)
