firefly island by lisa wingate (book review)

Note: I received a free copy of Firefly Island from Bethany House Publisher.

Firefly Island is an easy, enjoyable read. It's the story of a woman (Mallory Hale) working on Capitol Hill and she meets the man of her dreams, has a whirlwind romance, ends up marrying him and following him (and his son) to Texas so that he can pursue his dream job.

The book follows them through the first few months of their life in Texas, her doubts as to what she has gotten herself into and basically what it looks like to stick it out during the tough times of a new marriage.

I enjoyed reading the book from Mallory's perspective. The character was honest, funny and refreshing. It was interesting to try and put myself in her shoes and imagine what life would be like on a remote Texas ranch spending most of my time with my newly acquired stepson.

I liked the book and recommend it to anyone looking for an easy read that still touches on very real situations that happen in everyday life.
