This picture should come as no surprise. During nasty weather Dixie gets her exercise from playing ball in the basement.

So, a few words. We had John's ECE Winter Party last night and this was the program as well as my choice of entree.
Here's some more pics of the night:

I LOVE this song and I've been listening to it all week so I thought I'd share it here.

redbox reviews
Just some reviews of Redbox movies we've watched over the last few months:
I didn't really like this movie. It was extremely violent and the whole "time travel to kill your older self" thing was annoying and very jumpy. The plot was a little weird and yeah, I spent most of the movie staring at Joseph Gordon-Levitt's face and trying to see what the heck they did to it in order to make it look slightly weird and different. Do not recommend. 1 out of 5 stars.
weird, right?
Cute, funny, entertaining. 3 out of 5 stars.
I am a big fan of the Bourne series and I will have to say this one is only OK. It just ain't the same without Matt Damon. This storyline was also really jumpy and the plot was unclear. 1.5 out of 5 stars.
This is a miniseries that was done by the History Channel and it was AMAZING! John and I loved this! I would watch it all over again, it was so interesting and I learned a lot. Beware that it's almost six hours long because it was a miniseries, but definitely worth every minute. Highly recommend. 5 out of 5 stars.
I thought this movie was well done, it was a good story and I liked the actors. Not the best movie of all time but definitely a good movie. 3.5 out of 5 stars.
Ugh, we did not like this movie. Not even a little bit. It was depressing, weird and we didn't even really understand the point of the movie. Do not recommend.
Great movie! Loved the casting, loved the storyline, loved everything. Just a heads up, it can get pretty graphic at times. 4.5 out of 5 stars
We were not really impressed with this film, definitely not one of Pixar's best. The animation was great but I felt the storyline was lacking, even for a kid's film. 2 out of 5 stars.
I was not impressed with this movie, I was looking forward to something hilarious from these two guys and they didn't deliver. It was foul mouthed (which shouldn't have come as a surprise) and I really felt like it was lacking in the humor department. It makes me mad that comedians these days replace humor with foul language and nasty jokes. I might sound like a prude but I do think you can be funny without saying gross things every few seconds. 1 out of 5 stars.
We both really liked this movie. It's definitely got an indie feel to it so if you're not into that you may not want to watch it. I thought it was cute, quirky and a bit endearing. Plus, I love Aubrey Plaza so that pretty much sealed it. 3.5 out of 5 stars.
day 22: makes you smile
John lit this candle when he asked me to be his girlfriend eight years ago (on February 22). It's totally discolored and looks a little nasty but I don't think I'll ever be able to throw it away because whenever I look at it it always makes me smile :)

day 19: i am...
...giving myself a break. After an 11 hour workday with 3 energetic boys I'm skipping my workout and settling into my nest (pictured above). My nest consists of a blanket and a quilt in which I burrow under to watch TV, read or do stuff on my computer. Aaaah, it's going to be a good night :)

day 17: in your hand
Dixie's retractable leash after we returned home from the dog park.
Dixie looking at me and wondering why in the world would I take a picture of that evil thing that holds her back from running around like a wild banshee.

day 16: perfect
The Avett Brothers!
I saw them in concert for the first time last night and they were just PERFECT!
I jumped on the Avett train a little late as I just started listening to them a couple of years ago and a lot of my friends and family liked them way before that. But as soon as I started listening to them I fell in love, 100%. And their show last night was absolutely fantastic! They were so energetic and fun while they were performing, every song was amazing and as the show ended I told my friend that I could go to another performance right then and there. I mean, really, I can't express how much I enjoyed that concert. Hands down, one of the best concerts I've ever been to. I would see them like 1,000 more times because they're that amazing! I want to be friends with all of them because they just seem so awesome! Do you think they're taking friend applications? Oh and one more small fact: they're from North Carolina!! So to me that makes them a million times more awesome! (I'm coming off of a concert high right now so I'm sure this all seems very dramatic but it's definitely warranted because THEY'RE AMAZING!) The photo was taken by my friend, Jessica (thanks for letting me borrow it). This is one of my favorite songs they played last night...go on, you should listen to it :)

day 12: where you ate lunch
Normally this would be a picture of a salad on someone else's kitchen counter but today I'm home sick. And yes, I had to eat at my counter because I had a dog with hungry eyes staring at me and threatening to eat my food regardless of how I was feeling.
day 11: entrance
This is clearly a staged picture. My usual entrance causes Dixie to run, jump, wiggle and bark like I've been gone for a decade instead of a work day. But nonetheless this is the view of the entrance into my home every night and I couldn't ask for a better one. :)

day 4: hope
Maybe you're wondering why I'm posting a picture of the month of June. Well, some of you may already know but I'd like to announce that JOHN GOT A JOB!!! Yay!! I'm so incredibly proud of him!! It's a great job and we'll be moving to the DC area sometime in the May-June time frame. As a lot of you may know, Pittsburgh has not been my most favorite place to live nor has this been the easiest/best part of our lives together. Granted, we have spent our first married years here, I've learned a lot and met some great friends but I am very hopeful to see what life will throw at us come June.
